The Winter Olympics are a wrap; the Canadian trucker-led protests have been broken up their government; and pitchers and catchers should be reporting Spring Training (but, sadly, they are not).

Three Things I Think You Should Know:

  • State of the Union:  President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday, March 1, which will mark the first time in our nation's history that the president's annual address to Congress has been delivered in the month of March.

  • Russia-Ukraine Situation:  Potential Biden-Putin have tentatively scheduled a summit to resolve the current stand-off. US continues to threaten immediate and severe sanctions if Russia invades.  This situation remains both tense and volatile, and the magnitude of the potential ramifications of a Russian invasion are consuming much of the bandwidth at the White House and the other national security focused agencies, and Hill committees.

  • COVID numbers plummet:  More states are rolling back their mask mandates, including existing mandates on schools, as COVID case numbers fall
